Finding The Perfect Beach Wedding Dress

Posted in Beach Weddings | Posted by Melissa |
There is nothing more natural and romantic than a beach theme wedding! Beach wedding ceremonies allow the bride and groom to be themselves, and not let the venue take away from the true meaning of the ceremony.
Selecting Your Beach Wedding Dress
When choosing your beach wedding dress, the rule of thumb is, whatever makes you happy. If you have always dreamed about wearing a formal wedding gown on your special day then that is exactly what you should wear. On the other hand, beach wedding dresses that are little more than bathing suit cover ups are highly fashionable too. Whatever you decide regarding your beach wedding dress, the choice is simply a matter of personal taste and style, as is the same with many other wedding planning decisions.
When you are looking at the range of possibilities for beach wedding dresses, take into consideration your maid of honor and/or bridesmaid’s styles and personalities, as well. You may have to find a compromise for THEIR beach wedding dresses that works for them, yet still complements whatever beach wedding dress you’ve chosen for yourself.
The one factor that might influence your choice of beach wedding dresses is the one factor that you have the least control over – the weather. It’s a good idea to think ‘layered’ in some way, for yourself and your whole wedding party – that way, you’re prepared if it turns out to be a really hot day, or if the wind comes up (as it often does on a beach)!

Selecting Your Beach Wedding Shoes
There are two things to take into consideration when choosing your beach wedding shoes. Elegance is the goal! You do not have to wear a 4” heel on your wedding day to look elegant. There are many styles of flats and low heel that are very elegant and fashionable.

Safety is the key! A trip to the hospital emergency room is the last place any bride wants to spend her special day. Keep in mind a beach wedding means negotiating uneven and rough terrain, even the soft give of the sand under your feet can be the cause of an injury.
Elegance and Safety go hand in hand when choosing your beach wedding shoes. This tip is not just for the brides, the entire wedding party and your guest need to take safety into consideration.
Many couples opt to go completely barefoot, rather than wear ANY beach wedding shoes! And why not? If it’s warm and dry and safe, going barefoot is definitely a beach wedding option for lots of people!
But some brides want to compromise, and now it’s possible to do that by wearing what’s called ‘foot jewelry.’ Technically, you are not wearing any beach wedding shoes, but foot jewelry looks like the top of a sandal, giving the impression you are. Foot jewelry is very elegant and fashionable and is a safe alternative to wearing inappropriate beach wedding shoes.

With these tips in mind it’s time to go shopping!
